Lent Day 2: Transformation and Change

Everybody wants to be transformed, but nobody wants to change. If you truly want to be transformed you have to admit that you need to change. That’s called humility: recognizing that there’s wisdom in the whole body of Christ that’s greater than your own personal short stock of wisdom.

As we entrust ourselves to these ancient traditions, as we join our brothers and sisters in the faith going back two thousand years, we keep the same fast with them, as we’re also going to share in the glory with them.

Mags, I'm examining my conscience on this one, and I think that among my "manifold sins and wickedness", this may not be one of them. Of course, I could be wrong, and God may show me that this very day.

The thing is that change may involve pain, and who among us desires pain? It may come our way, and we pray for the grace to embrace the pain and trust that God will carry us through it.

I don't like rushing out early in the morning, and I am late a lot. I could do with change in those areas, and I would not look forward to what I'd have to do to bring about change. Maybe I'll have to take back my profession of innocence.

See. God did show me in the time it took to write these few words.

I love the picture.

Thanks for reading, everyone! Grandmere, this is THE story of my life these days: trying to live into my desire for transformation by taking the concrete steps to change. Many days I hate it. Most days I feel saved by it...by God's participation, in doing for me what i cannot do for myself.

It is challenging, isn't it!

Blessings, all.
